Explanation of Google Search Analytics Report For Website and blogs.  It gives information about the how often your website or blog appears in Google search results. And for what queries, keywords your website is ranking. And also at what position for a particular keyword your website or blog is there.

Use all the options in order to improve your website or blog.  You need to close eye on Google Search Analytics Report which is available in Search console webmaster tools.

To view Google Search Analytics Report, first login into your Google Search console webmaster tool account. Then click on the website for which you want to view this report. Under search traffic tab, you will see Google analytics search terms report, Click on this to see various metrics.

Site search Google Analytics:

You can filter the data by Clicks, impressions, CTR and position.

Apart from this you can filter the Data by:

  • Queries.
  • Pages.
  • Countries.
  • Devices.
  • Search type.
  • Dates
  • By default you will have reports details of past 4 weeks.

Explanation of various metrics in google analytics site search

Clicks : It’s counts number of clicks which arise from Google search results page ( SERP) to your website or blogger.

Clicking an image will be counted only when click leads to your website of blog.

What are Impressions?:It gives info about how many links to your website or blog a user saw on Google search results.

CTR :It is shown after the click count is divided by the impression count.

Position: It is average position of the topmost results from your website or blog.

Group by query: 

  • In this you can review the query list for expected keywords.
  • Here you can also find info of queries which got high impressions and low CTR.
Group by page:

Here you can find info of individual page.

Group Up country:

It is limited to countries with top 20 impressions. Various countries info can be known.

Group by device:

  • Here you can find the information about the search related to 
  • Desktop
  • Mobile
  • Tablet.

Remember if you have separate mobile and desktop site version then then metrics for each of your site will be shown separately.

Group by date:

Here you can select the date range and can find the required information.

What is a Filter ?

  • For various categories you can filter data.
  • It is informed that you can compare data in only one category at a time.
